Spine Disorders

Frequently treated spine disorders are motor neuron disease, spinal muscular atrophy, multiple sclerosis, disco-vertebral degeneration, cervical spondylosis and spinal cord injuries.
Low back pain and neck pain are frequent complaints among the youth and elders alike. Many occupations using computers for long hours, travelling long distances and various other postural factors are contributing to the etiology. Intensity of the problem varies from inflammation of muscles and fascia around the spine to those involving changes to spinal code and spinal nerves. In conditions caused by external injuries or strain, Ayurveda focus on external therapies , where as diseases due to internal pathology like spondylitis, Ayurveda focus more on internal medicine and therapies.

Chronich Kapha problems of upper respiratory track, or what is called as Abhishyanda ( liquification of Kapha) gradually can lead to blockage and inflammation of cervical spine. Gastritis and acid reflex can cause vagal nerve irritation which intern results in muscle strain around neck. This condition is understood as Amashayagata vata in Ayurveda. These two pathologies are coexisting or causing cervical spine disorders in our observation. In such cases, along with medication and therapies for cervical spine, we also use medication for subsiding kapha imbalance and reducing gastric irritation. This gives quick results and avoid recurrence of the disease.

Pathologies of lower digestive track like constipation, flatulence, piles, fistula etc; cause strain to Lumbar spine. Also pathologies of Uterus or bladder does the same. Increased intra-abdominal pressure is one of the main factors which make you susceptible for intervertebral disc herniation. When we treat Lumbar spine pathologies we address these factors along with regular Ayurveda treatments for Lowback.
